On-device reading data
Ink Reader stores imported books, saved books, reading progress, history, highlights, downloads, preferences, bounded diagnostics, optional voice packs, and temporary narration audio on the device. This data is not automatically uploaded to Ink Cloud.
Diagnostics exclude chapter text and search terms. They are shared only when the user explicitly exports and sends a report.
Provider servers
Provider servers selected by the user receive requests needed to browse, search, retrieve book metadata, load chapters, and optionally generate server narration. Their operators may receive ordinary network information and the resources requested. Provider servers and linked websites have their own privacy practices.
Optional Ink account
Google Sign-In supplies a stable account identifier, email address, verification state, display name, and profile image when available. Ink Cloud stores that profile, account and session metadata, and membership entitlements. It never receives the user’s Google password and does not request access to Drive, contacts, or email.
Signing in does not upload local books, provider addresses, reading history, highlights, or preferences. Later cloud processing features send book content only after the user explicitly requests that operation.
Payments
Stripe or Google Play processes checkout and payment details, depending on where the membership is purchased. Ink Cloud stores the provider’s customer or obfuscated account identifier, subscription, purchase token, order or invoice, payment, webhook or notification, status, amount, currency, and billing-period identifiers needed to grant access, restore purchases, prevent duplicate processing, support account rights, and reconcile payments. Ink Reader does not receive or store full card details.
Account rights
Users can export or delete their Ink account from Settings → Ink account. A user with finite paid access can schedule deletion for the end of that access period or delete immediately. Limited transaction records may be retained where required for purchase restoration, fraud prevention, accounting, legal compliance, or legal claims.
Analytics and advertising
Ink Reader does not currently include advertising or analytics SDKs and does not sell personal information.
